Working with Adult Issues and Concerns

Fear, sadness, low self-esteem and loneliness are just a few of the feelings and issues that bring people to therapy. Whether it is working on a significant relationship or working on yourself, therapy offers you an opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of who you are. I am committed to working with my clients to examine the issues in their lives, develop a deeper understanding of these issues, and identify new solutions to current problems. I emphasize an insight oriented approach, but when there are pressing problems I take a more active approach to help you identify and implement solutions to these problems.

Addressing Problems of Children and Adolescents

Anger, defiance, poor motivation, fearfulness and sadness are just some of the signs that your child or adolescent is having a difficult time. I meet individually with children and adolescents to help them more clearly identify their concerns, better understand their own feelings, and find healthier ways to express their needs and issues. I also work with parents to help them better understand their child’s problems and find effective solutions that they can implement at home. I focus on helping all family members find ways to verbalize their feelings and concerns so they feel more understood and supported, and thus are better able to work together to solve problems.

Women’s Issues

Women face unique issues and challenges in our society: balancing the role of full time parent and working/professional woman; adjusting to changing expectations and pressures; and handling the demands of motherhood. I work with women on all of these issues and help women struggling with Postpartum Depression and those who have experienced early losses and trauma.
